Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia of Sweden are expecting their fourth child. The baby, due in February 2025, will join their three sons: Prince Alexander, Prince Gabriel, and Prince Julian. The Swedish Royal Court announced the couple’s exciting news on September 2, noting that Princess Sofia is feeling well and no changes are expected to her public schedule. Over the years, the royal couple has shared glimpses of their family life, including special occasions and holidays.

Despite their titles, the children of Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia, as well as those of his sister Princess Madeleine, do not hold royal titles. This change was implemented by their father, King Carl XVI Gustaf, in 2019 to clarify which family members are expected to perform official duties. Prince Carl Philip and Princess Madeleine supported this decision, seeing it as beneficial for allowing their children more freedom in their future choices.

Meanwhile, the British Royal Family has had significant updates as well. Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, completed chemotherapy for an unspecified cancer and shared her journey of coping with the disease. She has resumed some public appearances and is looking forward to more engagements.

Princess Anne was hospitalized with a concussion but has since been discharged and is expected to recover fully. King Charles III has also been undergoing medical treatment for benign prostate enlargement and is planning to return to public duties. Additionally, Queen Camilla’s schedule was cleared to support her through her husband’s treatment.

Further notable events include Lady Kitty Spencer welcoming her first child privately and Queen Margrethe II of Denmark abdicating in favor of her son, King Frederik X. In Luxembourg, Princess Claire and Prince Felix celebrated the birth of their son, Balthazar Felix Karl, marking the first royal baby of the new year.
