Queen Camilla has provided an update on King Charles III’s health status, seven months after he disclosed his cancer diagnosis. The Queen shared that the King is doing well while visiting the newly opened Dyson Cancer Center at the Royal United Hospital in Bath, England, on September 3. The center supports cancer care for over half a million people in South West England. During the visit, Suzy Moon from Macmillan Cancer Support asked Camilla about the King’s condition, to which the Queen responded positively.
During the same visit, Queen Camilla interacted humorously with Paul Holdway, a 55-year-old nurse and patient undergoing a stem cell transplant for blood cancer. When Holdway mentioned feeling tired, Camilla joked about men not admitting their fatigue.
Since King Charles III’s diagnosis, both he and Queen Camilla have actively kept the public informed about his health. During an August visit to families affected by a knife attack in Southport, the King shared that he was “not too bad” amidst his treatments. In May, at the Army Flying Museum, Charles mentioned losing his sense of taste due to chemotherapy, but didn’t specify if this was a permanent issue.
Following his diagnosis, Kate Middleton, King Charles’s daughter-in-law, also revealed her cancer diagnosis and treatment. In a video statement on September 9, Kate Middleton announced she had completed chemotherapy. She discussed the complexities and fear of the cancer journey and indicated that although she had finished chemotherapy, her recovery would continue.
